Utah July 2018

I don’t even know where to start with this trip other than by saying I am so so blessed! If there’s one thing I realized this weekend is just how much Sean and I are loved and how loved baby H is going to be. Thank you just doesn’t cover how grateful I feel for this past weekend. We had so many people take time to come celebrate this huge milestone in Sean and my life and we couldn’t be more grateful! We did decide though that 5 days is not long enough for these visits because we cram so much into such a short period of time!

The weekend began Thursday with a trip to Nordstrom with mom for our annual anniversary sale trip. This year was a bit different as I couldn’t really fit into many clothes, but the shoes fit! We’ve been doing this since I was probably 14 years old and definitely one of our favorite traditions.

I then headed down to the Stevenson house to see everyone and who met me at the door…my best friend Maddux! That boy is getting so big, I just can’t get over it! He is so fun and loving and I can’t believe he’s going to be 5 in November. Since we were back in Utah we of course had to make a trip to Costa Vida and Sodalicious…we actually did pretty well with just one trip to CV and a couple trips to Sodalicious (it’s probably good we don’t live near those places!).

We then headed back home and spent the rest of the afternoon just hanging out, playing games, and of course dinosaurs.

That night I sat out back on the patio with dad and mom for a few hours listening to music and just talking. I love the dry heat! It’s the best! And just sitting out there talking with them, there’s nothing better. Plus it’s beautiful and Flurry is just the cutest dog!

Friday morning mom was working at the 3dlD2mUcSjGfcDQH9L12zAtemple and dad had some early morning meetings so it was just me and the dogs hanging out. We went for a beautiful walk, another one of my favorite things to do when home. I then stopped by Daylight Donuts and headed down to hang with Lilly and Maddux (and Granna + Carrie 😉 for the morning. And big news…it only took Lilly one day to get comfortable with me!! That’s down from the 5 days last time. We spent the morning playing games, eating donuts, and hanging out.

After my morning there I headed up to the airport to pick up Emily and Jenny!! I don’t think I’ve been so excited to pick two people from the airport in a long time! It had been forever since I’d seen these two in person and it was so fun to have them up in Utah! It meant so much to have them come up there for the weekend! After picking them up we headed over to temple square to show them a little bit of downtown Salt Lake, had lunch, and just talked and caught up.

About the time we got back home Kim and Nick were getting to the house as well. This weekend was just full of fun reunions with people I hadn’t seen in so long!! I loved it! once we were all settled the preparation for the baby shower began. They made sugar cookies, and lemon poppyseed cake, cut up fruit for fruit champagne glasses and just kind of got things set for the next day. The tent in the backyard was put up and we had dinner outback and sat and visited for awhile.

Saturday was the big day! We woke up early, went for a nice walk and then got everything ready for the big party.

Kimberly Stevens and my mom went above and beyond for this baby shower. Everything was beautiful! The food was delicious, the decorations were beautiful, the games and activities were really fun, and the whole thing was just more than I could have ever imagined! I’m not used to being spoiled like this and I really can’t say how much I appreciate all their work for me and for baby H. Here are some of the beautiful details of the party:

GORGEOUS! And DELICIOUS! It was a beautiful day and everything came together perfectly. Kimberly and my mom worked so hard and I’m so grateful they took the time to put this beautiful day together for me!

I’m so grateful that these two women worked so hard to put this on for me.

And to these two ladies for flying all the way up from SD for the weekend, it wouldn’t have been the same without them!IMG_4125

One of the best parts of the day was the chance I had to see so many of my friends and family I haven’t gotten to see for a long time. I was amazed to see so many people there and so grateful they took the time to come see me and celebrate with me! I know I keep saying it, but I really can’t say how much I appreciated so many people coming to this shower, I am so blessed!o7%H6RYsRLO5BMuG8waAOw

IMG_4145After eating the DELICIOUS food, thank you Kim and Mom, we headed back inside and opened gifts. I’m always amazed at how generous people are and Baby H is one lucky little lady!!

There’s just something about little girl clothes!

This little onesie from Jenny was a definite favorite. It says “Future titan basketball player” on the top and then on the bottom it says “My mom is Katie Holiday.” And the back has Stevenson 52…how cute is that!!

I really can’t say enough how grateful I am for all the friends and family that took time to come celebrate this little girl with me!! It’s such a blessing to know just how loved our little family is!

As if having the entire morning about me wasn’t enough, it was also my birthday. So that evening Sean’s family all came up and we had a BBQ and played putt putt and enjoyed the evening. It really was the best way to spend my birthday! Year 25 was pretty good, but I have a feeling 26 is going to be a year to remember!

I also finally made it to Snoasis, the little shaved ice stand mom and dad always rave about. It did not disappoint.

Saturday was a busy day! So Sunday was much more relaxed. We took Emily and Jenny to the airport in the morning, it’s a lot easier saying goodbye knowing we get to see them again in November!! I then headed down to Sean’s house for lunch and to hang out for a bit. Mom and Dad came down that evening and we had ice cream cake that was supposed to be for the night before but we forgot to pick it up…whoops! Sean and I couldn’t get enough of this family time!

And then Monday came, our last day there. I always hate this day and impending goodbyes. We started the day with a long 3 mile walk, one of my favorite parts of being home! Mom and I then headed off to meet Julie for lunch and to go baby shopping! We may have gone a little crazy, but it was so worth it! And we got some ADORABLE things. It’s a good thing I went with those two though cause I’m still so clueless when it comes to baby stuff! Mom got us some good newborn stuff to take back in case she comes before they come out with the rest of it in a few weeks. After our afternoon shopping mom dropped me off at Sean’s house and we said goodbye again. It’s always sad saying goodbye, but nice to know we’ll see her again in a few weeks and then a few weeks after that and again a few weeks after that  haha :).

The rest of the afternoon was spent outback playing spikeball, listening to music, and talking. I forgot how nice not having humidity is! It was a great way to end an AMAZING trip!

img_5456Like I said this weekend was JAM PACKED, and it really was amazing! We can’t thank our friends and families enough for all they did this weekend! We feel so loved and so supported and CANNOT wait to meet little baby H in a few short weeks. It’s amazing all the love we felt this weekend and are blessed beyond belief! Here’s to hoping one of these trips to Utah become permanent!!
