Well this is my catch up post.
To say that the last few months have been a whirlwind would be an understatement. They have been the craziest, fastest, and happiest few months!! So I guess let’s start with September.
SEPTEMBER
1. Started my LAST semester of graduate school!!
I never thought this day would come, but it has. I AM IN MY LAST SEMESTER of my Master’s program. Blows my mind. This semester will be a handful, a beast actually. But once it’s over I’M DONE! Just pray that I survive having baby my last semester of grad school.
2. The swelling got real.
I would get home from work or clinical and literally I did not have ankles. Just to give you and idea…
3. Waiting for baby H to arrive
Dad came to town the Wednesday before I was supposed to be induced, the 13th, but was then postponed to the 17th because I wasn’t dilated at all. And then mom came to town the 15th. This meant we had 4 days with them just to hang out. It was so fun anticipating her arrival, but we were so ready to finally meet her!
4. HARPER
We had a baby.
5. Carrie came to town
Having Carrie come for those 10 days was a Heaven send. We were so lucky to have her as I headed back to clinicals a week after having Harper so Sean had some help for that first week at least. We figured since she had been couped up in the house for the whole week we should at least take her to beach once. So Harper got to go to the beach for the first time at a week old!
OCTOBER
1. Taking care of baby H
Our month of October was mostly spent with me working on school and us figuring out this whole parent thing. It’s funny, when people ask us if it’s been weird becoming parents we emphatically say no. This has been one of the most natural transitions of my life. I’d say adjusting to marriage was harder than having a baby (joking mostly ;). But in all seriousness we love this little girl and are so lucky to be her parents.
2. Ty and Mattie came to visit!
Well after living here for 3 years Ty and Mattie finally came to visit!! And it was so so fun! We didn’t want them to leave. We spent a lot of time just hanging since they wanted to see Harper as much as possible. But we did take them to the Whale’s Rib (of course), and we did the water taxi down in Ft. Lauderdale. I’d say I’m most proud of changing Harper on my lap in a 3×6 bathroom on a boat and I didn’t get any poop on me (mom win)!! It was hard to see them leave, but we so glad they came to visit!
3. Mike and Merry came to visit
At the end of the month Mike and Merry stopped by for a few days on their way down to Key West. We took them to our favorite 4 Rivers BBQ, watch some football and even got to watch the Red Sox win the World Series (well Sean did, I fell asleep). It was so fun to have them down to see us and so glad they were able to meet Harper!
